A NEW MOTOR-TAXI HITS THE STREETS OF CAMBODIA

We've just received our last loan payment from Heab Kong of Cambodia, who used the loan money to buy a new motor-taxi. Here are the details:

LOAN INFORMATION:
Business Type: tailoring
Loan For: to purchase a motor-taxi
Funded: Mar 22, 2008
Repaid: May 15, 2009

FROM THE KIVA APPLICATION:
"Mrs. Heab Kong, 29, is a mother of three children that stays at home looking after the children and cooking food for her family members. After the house work, she works as a tailor and normally earns around $4 a day. Her husband supports the family as a motor-taxi driver, making around $3.50 a day of profit. To increase their standard of living they request to loan from Kiva to purchase another motor-taxi for their son to run as a business."

(I almost don't want to post their picture because they look so scared to have their picture taken! Maybe they were told they HAD to have it taken in order to get the loan. Ick. Hope not!)
